Description
This couture gown evokes the image of a marine creature in motion, swirling through ocean currents. The silhouette is sculptural, with intricate cording work that undulates across the body in fluid, layered waves. These layered “ridges” mimic the fragile, feathered edges of mollusk shells or sea anemones, cascading diagonally across the shoulder, bodice, and into the train. The full-length silhouette flows into a dramatic flare with trail, giving a sense of both organic growth and movement. The sheer, silk by silk fabric used in the train continues the metaphor of underwater drift, while the dense textural detailing on top contrasts with softness below, just like the protective outer of a shell versus its internal delicacy.
